33rd Sunday in Ordinary time, 19th November 2017

Thank you

It is with a deep sense of sadness that we say goodbye to a number of Religious Sisters from our parish, who will take their leave of us over the coming days. Last week some sisters from St. Patrick’s Convent on the Kells Road left to take up residence in a number of houses in Dublin. This week some of our Sisters from the St. John of God Convent will take up residence in their new Convent in Wexford. The Sisters of Charity have had a presence and mission within our parish since 1879 while the Sisters of St. John of God have been serving our parish community since 1876. With gratitude we give thanks for your time with us and for your ministry in our parish community. We are delighted that a number of sisters from the St. John of God and Sisters of Charity Communities will remain with us here is St. Patrick’s Parish to continue their presence and mission for the time being. We ask God’s blessing on those who take their leave and we pray that you will be happy in your new home. Though we may be separated by the miles, we are united always in our faith and trust in the One God. “Alone with none but thee, my God, I journey on my way: what need I fear when thou art near, O King of night and day? more safe am I within thy hand than if a host should round me stand.”

November Remembrance Service

Our annual Parish Remembrance Service takes place on Thursday, 30th November at 7.30pm in St. Fiacre’s Church. During this service we will remember those who have died, especially those of our parishioners who died during the past year. All are welcome and invited to attend this special evening of prayer. Lists of the dead sheets are available in all of the churches. Names can be filled in and placed in the baskets on the sanctuary. May their souls and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace. Amen
