Third Sunday in Ordinary, 26th Januray 2014

Parish Senior Citizens’ Party
Parishioners of a certain age are looking forward to the annual St. Patrick’s Parish Senior Citizens’ party which will be held in the Parish Centre at 7.30pm on Monday, 27th January.  We look forward to a wonderful night and an opportunity to sing and dance together.  Tickets (€10) are only available at the Parish Centre.  We ask people to purchase tickets to enable us to plan the catering on the night.  Music by the Marble City Swingers.  Get your party frocks and dancing shoes ready!

Catholic Schools’ Week
This will be celebrated from this Sunday, 26th January to 2nd February. The theme for the week is, Catholic Schools: Places of Faith and Learning. There are a number of Catholic schools in the parish and we salute what they accomplish. They enrich not only the local community but also society in general. The seeds of faith are planted in the home and the role of parents as primary educators ought to be recognised by involving them in school activities. The Catholic school emphasises the mission of Christ and the religious programme affirms and deepens the understanding the students have of the Catholic religion. Teachers who work hard day in day out giving witness and spreading the faith are to be praised.
